Ethica Diamonds has announced that it has collaborated with Joanna Lumley for the Born Free Foundation.
In-house designer, Laura Basham, worked with Joanna Lumley to create a pendant to be auctioned at the Footsteps For Freedom Gala.
The piece incorporates green lab-grown diamonds totalling 3.65cts and light-blue lab-grown sapphires totalling an additional 2.04cts, set in recycled gold.
Ethica has also revealed that it is set to create a bespoke collection of jewellery designed exclusively for Born Free in the future.
Lumley said: “The whole world is in our hands: sink or swim, jeopardy or protection, survival or a miserable absence of our planet’s most glorious animals. It is up to us: as humans we must wield our devastating power with compassion, humility and courage. I love this graceful and stunning pendant, which is as beautiful as it is wise. It captures Born Free’s ethics and ambitions perfectly.”
The company added: “It’s been so rewarding to create something so meaningful to support Born Free with their amazing work, which raised a phenomenal £10,000. Plus, it demonstrates our mission perfectly, that we can create truly meaningful and stunning pieces of jewellery without harming the environment, animals or people through mining.
“Every penny raised from this pendant went straight to Born Free, helping them continue their vital work. It’s our way of doing our bit, from our little corner of Cornwall, to make a difference. If you love this pendant, we can recreate it with customisations to suit you and we would donate a percentage of the profits to Born Free to continually support their work.”
